Search has finally been added to DeliciousSafari in version 1.9. You can now search your bookmarks by tag or title. This release also includes minor bug fixes.

DeliciousSafari 1.8 – Snow Leopard Ready

Version 1.8 of DeliciousSafari is available. Feature wise, this release is identical to 1.7 except that it also works on Snow Leopard.

However, Tiger is no longer supported in 1.8. If you’re using Tiger or Safari 3, you can download 1.7 here.

Bookmarks Pro 2.0 Released

Bookmarks Pro 2.0 is now available on the iTunes App Store. This version lets you:

Search tag and bookmark titles
Open bookmarks in a built in web browser (or Safari, if you prefer)
Browse contacts that have URLs

This version also includes several bug fixes and rotation has been removed. I apologize to the customers who purchased Bookmarks Pro 1.1 without realizing it was exactly the same as the free version aside from not having advertisements. I failed to properly inform you in the application description. However, with the new features added to version 2.0, I believe Bookmarks Pro is now far superior to the free version.

It’s been a long time coming, but I finally released version 1.1 of Bookmarks on the iTunes App Store. Some new features are:

The ability to save bookmarks from Safari
A favorites tag list
A recently saved list
The ability to delete bookmarks
An activity indicator so you know when bookmarks are being synced with Delicious

DeliciousSafari 1.7

Version 1.7 of DeliciousSafari is available. Many bug fixes, performance enhancements, and new features are included in this release. Special thanks to the 60 beta testers who tracked down and reported bugs to make this a solid release.

Changes

URL icons (favicon) are displayed next to bookmarks
Added a toolbar button for saving bookmarks
Added spell checking to the Name and Notes fields
Fixed tag suggestions on Tiger that stopped working with Delicious.com 2.0
Increased maximum length of Notes field to 1000 to take advantage of new maximum allowed by Delicious.com 2.0
Bookmark saving is faster (now processed in the background so you don’t have to wait for the save to complete)
Safari startup is faster (tag menu is now generated on the fly, rather than when Safari starts)
Improved reliability of Import Bookmarks from Safari
Fixed several issues that prevented DeliciousSafari from loading on some computers
No longer a SIMBL plug-in
Added Invalid Credential notification when your Delicious password has changed and needs to be updated in DeliciousSafari
Checks for Delicious updates every 15 minutes in case you add Delicious bookmarks through something other than DeliciousSafari
Logout really works now (it used to leave your username and password in the keychain)
Menu item text is now truncated in the middle if the text is longer than 60 characters
DeliciousSafari now opens a Safari window if there isn’t one, rather than doing nothing

As SIMBL is no longer needed you can delete it from /Library/InputManagers/SIMBL, but only do so if you know you have no other SIMBL plug-ins, otherwise those plug-ins will stop working.

Bookmarks iPhone App Available on iTunes

Bookmarks, an iPhone app that lets you access you Delicious bookmarks, is now available on the iTunes App Store. Please try it out and send me your feedback.

Bookmarks – del.icio.us for the iPhone and iPod Touch

Bookmarks, an application for the iPhone and iPod Touch that lets you access your del.icio.us bookmarks, was submitted to the iTunes App store today. It is a free download and will hopefully be approved soon. Keep an eye out for it in the coming weeks and send me your feedback.

DeliciousSafari 1.6 – Tag Suggestions, Importer, & Enhanced Favorites

Version 1.6 of DeliciousSafari is available. It includes tag suggestions, a Safari to del.icio.us importer, and an enhanced favorite tags menu.

Notes

You can change the keyboard shortcut for adding bookmarks (i.e. Control+D) via System Preferences. To do so:

Open up System Preferences
Select Keyboard & Mouse
Select the Keyboard Shortcuts tab
Press the + button
Select Safari as the Application
Enter Add del.icio.us Bookmark… as the Menu Title.
Enter the keyboard shortcut of your choice. NOTE: some key combinations may conflict with other key combinations in the system, so you may need to experiment to find one you can use.

If for some reason you want to revert to 1.5 after installing 1.6 then you must use the Uninstall DeliciousSafari tool before trying to install 1.5. Otherwise the bookmarks will be stored in a format that only 1.6 can understand.

DeliciousSafari 1.5

Version 1.5 of DeliciousSafari is available. When saving a bookmark that you have already saved, DeliciousSafari now populates the fields with your exising values. This provides basic bookmark editing. Simply click on the bookmark and then re-add it. When you do, it will be filled with the values of your last post.

Notes

Due to a limitation with the del.icio.us API, the value of the do not share field is not remembered when re-posting a bookmark.
If you are upgrading, you should log out of DeliciousSafari and then log back in again to refresh all bookmarks after you have installed 1.5. You only need to do this once. This will ensure the notes field is displayed when editing a bookmark.

DeliciousSafari 1.4

Version 1.4 of DeliciousSafari is now available. This version fixes a major problem introduced in Version 1.3 that caused tags to not be saved when running on Tiger.

I apologize to everyone who lost data as a result of Version 1.3. It was completely my fault and I could have easily caught the problem with proper testing. I will try not to repeat this mistake.

Again, you only need this update if you are running Tiger. If you are running Leopard, everything should be working fine.

Changes

Tags are now correctly set on del.icio.us when running on Tiger.
The notes field now correctly wraps text.
