Yahoo! IDs Don’t Work

Yahoo! IDs don’t work with the delicious.com API. That means DeliciousSafari, Bookmarks Pro, and any other application or website built using the delicious.com API will not work if you try to login with your Yahoo! ID. If you have an old school delicious.com account then you’re fine. This affects new users who have to sign up using a Yahoo! ID.

I contacted Delicious and this is what they had to say…

    “Hello Steff,

Thank you for writing to Delicious.

I understand that you are encountering issues with a third-party
Delicious add-on due to the Yahoo! registration process. I would like to
apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.

Unfortunately we cannot provide you with an “old skool” Delicious
account. You should be able to get this issue resolved by contacting the
company or website whose product you are trying to use. They need to
update their API and authentication process.

I hope this information helps. Please feel free to write back to us if
you have questions or comments about any of our Yahoo! services.

Thank you again for writing to Delicious.

    Regards,

    Apollo

any updates on the yahoo-id problem?

  9. Greg says:

Any news on when the fix might be released? A few days, a couple weeks, still a month off?

  10. doug says:

    @gregor & @Greg

I’m working on it now but unfortunately I haven’t been able to dedicate the time required to solve it as soon as I wanted. I’d like to have it done before the end of the year, but that could slip.

  11. Zobi says:

    Thanks dougs ;)
i wait for the new release ;)

  12. Greg says:

Thanks! Good to know you’re on the case!

  13. Jon says:

This also affects users who have/had an old style account and who opted to link their yahoo and delicious accounts.

I assume this migrates their old style delicious to new style yahoo login in under the hood.

In any case Delicious Safari doesn’t work…

…Looking forward to the new version!

  14. doug says:

@Jon Correct, it also affects old accounts that opted to link their yahoo accounts.

  17. doug says:

    @Ben Still a ways off.

    Any updates Doug?

  19. Phillip says:

Is there an eta? Do we need to send you a few pizzas to get this finished?
Will there be a version for Google Chrome?
Loved this app before Yahoo jacked things up :)

  20. Andy says:

Hey Doug – this looks great, but like the others here it’s no use as I can’t log in with Yahoo! ID… Can you give us all an ETA?

  21. doug says:

    No, no updates.
