Problems Saving Bookmarks

Over the last month, I’ve received several complaints about bookmarks not being saved to Delicious. Before that time, I received no similar complaints. This leads me to believe there has been a change on the Delicious side that I am unaware of.

I’ve contacted Delicious about the problem and I’m investigating. If there is a bug in DeliciousSafari, I will release a new version to fix the problem. There is more information about this problem in the documentation pages.

Also, many people have asked if DeliciousSafari works with Safari 4 beta. As far as I know, it does. If it doesn’t work for you, please let me know.

    Well, SOMETHING is definitely wrong! I don’t know if it’s you or maybe changes in Delicious but my experience wasn’t happy. I downloaded your software today and used it without trouble for a couple of hours. Then I realized my bookmarks were not being saved. This was coupled with seemingly unrelated loading problems in Safari. I remembered yr post about problems and played around a while withe the software. I had no trouble saving bookmarks using Delicous’ own software, which indicates the problem must be between yr software & Delicious. Worse from my point of view, however, using yr button prevented Safari from loading pages! This happened even when I didn’t “Save” but instead hit “Cancel.” I experimented for an hour and I’m sure this is the cause. I have to quit Safari to get it to run at all. I hope you fix this because I like your program and I’d like to use it. Right now I’m not registered and I’ll have to uninstall. Send me an email if & when you find the bug. Note: I use Mac OS 10.4.11 and Safari 3.1.1. (It may be that this problem only exists for Tiger users like me. Unfortunately, I don’t have the memory to go to Leopard.) – Hope this helps. – Ernest

    was causing safari to crash on startup so I had to remove it. Now Safari won’t crash.

    I installed your program on Safari 4 after I had problems with Firefox Delicious which stopped saving on that browser. So far, I cannot save anything with yours either. Also, please excuse my ignorance, but I don’t understand your keyboard shortcut for saving. The symbol ^ is above the number 6 on the keyboard and can only be used when caps lock is on. Control D is better for saving bookmarks on Delicious.

    Did the Safari 4 issues get resolved? I got bit by them last night (ended up mistakenly blaming 1Password for it :D ).

    I’ve been using Safari 4 without any problem for the last month or two. If you’re having any issues, please contact me here: http://delicioussafari.com/contact_us.php

  8. I recently started using DeliciousSafari (on Safari v4.0.1), and while it worked briefly, I’m now unable to save any links at all. Procedurally—in terms of UI—it works just fine, but the links never show up on Delicious.

    @Waldo Please see if your bookmarks are being queued up. Instructions on how to do so are here: http://delicioussafari.com/documentation/index.php?title=Bookmarks_not_saved_to_Delicious

    Also, please look at All Messages in Console (located in Applications -> Utilities) and send the results to me at: http://delicioussafari.com/contact_us.php

    @Andy The ^ in ^D means Control+D, not carat (Shift+6). I know it’s confusing but that has OS X shows the Control character. Will you contact using the following form and I’ll help you work through the problem you’re having:

    @Ernest

    The problem you mentioned about Safari page loads stopping is fixed in DeliciousSafari 1.8. However, 1.8 requires Leopard or Snow Leopard.
