Beta testing for Yahoo IDs is delayed. If you signed up for the beta test, I will contact you when a beta is ready. Thanks to all who volunteered.
Beta Testing Delayed
January 14th, 2010DeliciousSafari Yahoo ID Beta Test
December 13th, 2009UPDATE: Beta testing has been delayed indefinitely.
If you’re interested in testing the next version of DeliciousSafari that supports Yahoo IDs, please let me know. The purpose of this release is to allow new Delicious.com users to access their bookmarks since the only way they can do so is by using a Yahoo ID.
I’m collecting a list of beta testers now and will most likely have a beta ready for testing by the end of this week.
Update #1: This beta is for the DeliciousSafari plug-in on the Mac, not the Bookmarks iPhone app. I will start work on an updated iPhone app after I finish the work on the plug-in.
Yahoo! IDs Don’t Work
October 25th, 2009Update: Yahoo! has talked to me about the issue and showed me how to deal with Yahoo! IDs. The next version of DeliciousSafari will have support for Yahoo! IDs. Stay tuned.
Good news
You can now access delicious.com with a Yahoo! ID.
Bad news
Yahoo! IDs don’t work with the delicious.com API. That means DeliciousSafari, Bookmarks Pro, and any other application or website built using the delicious.com API will not work if you try to login with your Yahoo! ID. If you have an old school delicious.com account then you’re fine. This only affects new users who have to sign up using a Yahoo! ID.
I’ve contacted Yahoo! about the problem. Hopefully it will be fixed ASAP.
Facebook and Twitter
October 9th, 2009DeliciousSafari is on Facebook and Twitter.
The first 10 fans who comment on DeliciousSafari’s Facebook page get Delicious Bookmarks Pro for free.
DeliciousSafari 1.9 – Search
October 5th, 2009
Search has finally been added to DeliciousSafari in version 1.9. You can now search your bookmarks by tag or title. This release also includes minor bug fixes.
Changes
- Added search
- Changed Save Bookmark shortcut to Command+Y
- Fixed installer problems
DeliciousSafari 1.8 – Snow Leopard Ready
September 13th, 2009Version 1.8 of DeliciousSafari is available. Feature wise, this release is identical to 1.7 except that it also works on Snow Leopard.
However, Tiger is no longer supported in 1.8. If you’re using Tiger or Safari 3, you can download 1.7 here.
Beta Testing DeliciousSafari 1.8
September 8th, 2009Update: Thanks for the fast response everyone! I now have enough beta testers for this release.
If you’re interested in beta testing DeliciousSafari 1.8–the Snow Leopard compatibility release–please let me know.
Snow Leopard Compatibility
August 29th, 2009DeliciousSafari is not yet compatible with Snow Leopard. I’m working on a release to address this issue. In the meantime, you can use the workaround described in the documentation pages. This workaround may also fix other Safari plug-ins that stopped working in Snow Leopard.
Bookmarks Pro 2.0 Released
July 19th, 2009
Bookmarks Pro 2.0 is now available on the iTunes App Store. This version lets you:
- Search tag and bookmark titles
- Open bookmarks in a built in web browser (or Safari, if you prefer)
- Browse contacts that have URLs
This version also includes several bug fixes and rotation has been removed. I apologize to the customers who purchased Bookmarks Pro 1.1 without realizing it was exactly the same as the free version aside from not having advertisements. I failed to properly inform you in the application description. However, with the new features added to version 2.0, I believe Bookmarks Pro is now far superior to the free version.
Problems Saving Bookmarks
March 19th, 2009Over the last month, I’ve received several complaints about bookmarks not being saved to Delicious. Before that time, I received no similar complaints. This leads me to believe there has been a change on the Delicious side that I am unaware of.
I’ve contacted Delicious about the problem and I’m investigating. If there is a bug in DeliciousSafari, I will release a new version to fix the problem. There is more information about this problem in the documentation pages.
Also, many people have asked if DeliciousSafari works with Safari 4 beta. As far as I know, it does. If it doesn’t work for you, please let me know.
